Drugs on display after bust nets $270K, about $1M in pills and powder

About $1 million worth of drugs was seized following a cocaine trafficking investigation that began several months ago in St. John's.

About $1 million worth of drugs were seizedfollowing a cocaine trafficking investigation that began several months ago in St. John's.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEUNL) arrested three men ages 26 and 27 around suppertime Monday.

The investigation began in March andcenteredon high-level cocaine traffickers in St. John's.

One man was arrested at St. John's International Airport, another man was picked up at a traffic stop and the third was arrested at a home, after a warrant was executed.

As a result of the investigation10.5 kilograms of cocaine; 20kilograms of Phenacetin (a cutting agent), over 400 pills ofoxycodone,a small amount of LSD,and $270,000in cash were seized.

Scales, phones and other drugparaphernalia were taken during the bust.

Police say the drugs seized have a street value of approximately $1 million.

All three men are originally from Ontario, and are facing charges of trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and oxycodone.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
