Drunk driving accident sends motorcyclist to hospital

A male driver, 65, was charged with drunk driving after he caused a serious accident on Kenmount Road on Friday morning.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said theman was driving a pick-up truck when he struck a motorcycle.

The truck was turning left from Polina Road onto Kenmount Road and slammed into the motorcycle, which was heading eastbound.

Police said the male driver of the motorcycle, 27,was sent to hospital with serious injuries.

The RNC said the investigation is ongoing.
