Here's all you need to know about live Feed N.L. events and how you can help

Details on when to listen and where to attend on CBC's dedicated day to FEED NL, a collaboration with food banks to collect donations across the province.

Friday evening CBC will have a LIVE broadcast from the Avalon Mall at St. John's

Throughout December, CBC Newfoundland and Labrador is partnering with the province's food banks to raise awareness of the growing demand and to collect donations.

Food banks are seeing increased demand across the province and country. A recent report by Food Banks Canada found food bank visits in March had risen12 per cent over March 2022and 44 per cent increase over March 2019.

The report also stated that more than one-third of the people who use food banksare children 5,305 in total.

On Friday, CBC N.L. has arranged events throughout the day for the public to attend and listen to.

Where to listen and watch from home

You can listen to all the radio shows on the CBC Listen website and app or wherever you get your radio.Here & Now will broadcast a special show half an hour earlier at 5:30 p.m.

St. John's

From 6:40 a.m. until 9 a.m., The St. John's Morning Show's Krissy Holmeswill be broadcasting live from CBC's studios on University Avenue. The show will feature a live musical performance by Evelyn Jess and her band.

From 4p.m. to 5:30 p.m., On The Go'sAnthony Germain will be hosting the program live from the Avalon Mall.

Then, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Here & Now's Carolyn Stokes and Ashley Brauweiler will start the evening news show early, broadcasting live from the Avalon Mall as well.

Joining them at the mall will be musical performances from Memorial University's Brass Ensemble, Black Heritage Gospel Choir N.L.and Mick Davis.

Corner Brook and Gander

At 6a.m., CBC Newfoundland Morning will broadcast livefrom Robin's on Herald Avenue in Corner Brook and Tim Hortons on AirportBoulevard in Gander. The show will feature a musical performance by Bob MacDonald.

Carbonear

At noon, The Signal's Adam Walsh will be at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.

A chance to win a prize

CBC N.L. will hold a ballot for a chance to win a prize for people who donate in person at the Avalon Mall.

How to donate

You can donate at the CBC website at cbc.ca/bekind or contact the Community Food Sharing Association to donate to a specific community or food bank you would like to support.

In-person donations can be made at the Avalon Mall on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., when representatives from the Community Food Sharing Association will be available to accept them.

CBC N.L. will be open for donations until Dec. 31.
