Drunk driver caught when vehicle breaks down on Fogo Island

An impaired28-year-old man was arrested on Fogo IslandSunday morning as hisstolentruck ground to a halt.

The accuseddrunk driver hit another parked vehicle outside a bar in Fogo at about 3 a.m.Sunday, RCMPsay.

The man attempted to keep driving his stolen vehicle, but it eventually broke down and police located him.

Cpl. ShaunCoady with the Fogo Island RCMP detachment said the white Dodge truckwent through a ditch and over a stop sign before finally giving out.

The Gambo man has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, impaired drivingand failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Police say their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
