Fuel prices jump, as gasoline climbs more than 3 cents for 2nd straight week

For the second week in a row, drivers across Newfoundland and Labrador paidmore for their gas onThursday morning, as the prices of gas and diesel areup.

The Public Utilities Board (PUB) increasedthe maximum price of gasoline by 3.4cents, and as a result,motorists on the Avalon Peninsula will now be paying as much as$1.35a litre for self serve.

That same litre of gas costs $1.49in Cartwright.

Diesel drivers will also notice a slightincrease, as the price for diesel fuel is up 0.5cents a litre across the province.

Last week, the price of gas went up by 3.1 cents a litre.

Furnace and stove oil are down by 0.43cents per litre, while propane prices increased by 0.5 cents per litre.

The next scheduled price setting is next Thursday.
