Police investigating after shots fired in 2 downtown St. John's locations

Police say there were two incidents of gunfire in downtown St. John's last Friday in broad daylight. Both incidents are believed to be connected.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary believesthere were two incidents of gunfire in downtown St. John's last Friday in broad daylight.

The first happened around 10:40 a.m. NT on Casey Street, where it was determined that a single shot had been fired with no injuries reported.

At 12:20 p.m., the RNC received a second report of shots fired, this time in the area of Livingstone Street and Carter's Hill. Police say multiple shots were fired this time around.

Both incidents are believed to be connected and targeted.

Investigators are looking for any information to guide their investigation, including video footage between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the area bordered by Springdale Street, Lemarchant Road, Long'sHill and New Gower Street.
