2 more medals for Katarina Roxon at National Swimming Championships

The Kippens, N.L., swimmer won four medals in total this weekend in Montreal.

Katarina Roxon, the paralympic swimming champion from Kippens, N.L., has won another two medals at the Canadian Swimming Championships in Montreal this weekend.

Roxon swam in the 200-metre individual medly on Sunday, taking the gold medal.

Her coach and proud dad Leonard Roxon tweeted the medal presentation on Sunday evening.

Right after that race, Roxon went on to take the bronze medal in the 100-metre butterfly race.

Earlier in the competition Roxon took home gold, and broke the Americas record, in the 50-metre breaststroke. She also won silver in the 50-metre freestyle swim.

Roxon, who has become something of a household name in the province after winning a gold medal at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, got some shoutouts from other famous Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

Premier Dwight Ball over the weekend tweeted his congratulations to Roxon.

"You continue to amaze us. We are so proud of you," he tweeted.

Alan Doyle, MP Seamus O'Regan and musician Sandy Morris all tweeted messages of support to Roxon.
