Arson suspected at Happy Valley-Goose Bay lounge, police say

The RCMP are investigating a suspected case of arson after the Sand Bar lounge in Happy Valley-Goose Bay burned to the ground this weekend.

Police are investigating a case of suspected arson after a Happy Valley-Goose Bay lounge burned down in the early hours over the weekend.

At around 4:45 a.m. AT on Saturday, Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP officers got a report of a fire at the Sand Bar lounge.

Despite attempts by firefighters, the building was burned to the ground.

In a statementMonday, the RCMP saidthe force is looking at it as a case of arson.

"Evidence gathered suggests that the fire was intentionally set.Two suspects were observed running from the property with the possibility of a third suspect in the area as the fire broke out," said the statement.

It added that the investigation is still underway.
