Livingstone Street stabbing victim dies, police investigating as a homicide

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is now investigating Tuesday's stabbing on Livingstone Street as a homicide.

No arrests have been made but police say there's no threat to the public

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is now investigating a stabbing on Livingstone Street in downtown St. John's Tuesday as a homicide.

Police have confirmed the27-year-old victim has died.

No arrests have been made in the case, but an RNC spokesperson said Saturday the parties involved are believed to be known to one another and police therefore don't fear for public safety.

Officers were called to a disturbance in downtown St. John's before 2 p.m on Tuesday.

The Major Crimes Unit responded andhouses were cordonedoff with police tape. Forensic identification officers photographed a stairway in the neighbourhood.

The next day, Wednesday, police confirmed a 27-year-old had been stabbed and was in hospital in serious condition.

Police are looking for CCTVor dash cam footage from the Carters Hill andLivingstone Street areato help with the investigation.
