MusicNL: Steve Maloney 'honoured' by his band's 5 nominations

Steve Maloney and the Wandering Kind could come up big at Sunday's awards gala at the end of MusicNL week in Corner Brook.

The St. John's band is up for five awards at this years event. They areFactor Album of the Year, Group of the Year, Rising Star of the Year,SOCAN Songwriter of the Year andThe Telegram/Roots Recording of the Year.

Despite the high number of nominations,Maloneyisn't feeling any pressure to win.

"It's a huge honour," he said.

"Everyone nominated I feel are all friends, so whatever happens it's going to be a great night and a great weekend."

Maloney says the band will beginworking on a secondrecord in the new yearand will likely be heading out on anothertournext summer.
