The PCcandidate in Burin-Grand Bank has dropped out of the race due totorn ligaments in his foot.

Donald Slaney, a native of St. Lawrence, was seeking his first election win in the district Darin King has held since 2007.

"I do not feel 100 per cent, I like to put 100 per cent into anything I do," said Slaney in a statement.

"But with this injury I am unable to give 100 per cent to this campaign. The wise decision for me is to heal my injury and prepare for 2019."

Slaney would have run against Liberal Carol Anne Haley and NDP Ambrose Penton.

The PCs now have six seats to fill before the November 20 deadline for candidates.
