Pharmacist pleads guilty to drug charges

Pharmacist Ann Marie Burke has pleaded guilty to five drug charges, including three possession charges involving oxycodone, morphine and marijuana and two trafficking charges involving methadone and ritalin.

St. Johns pharmacist Ann Marie Burke pleaded guilty Wednesdaytofive drugcharges, including three possession charges involving oxycodone, morphine and marijuana and two trafficking charges involving methadone and ritalin.

Burke, 55, was taken into custodyin Januaryon charges of drug possession and trafficking, following a year-long police investigation.

Burke, who originally faced six charges, worked at Downtown Pharmacy on Water Street.

She had been involved in dispensing methadone to narcotics addicts.

Burke is scheduled to return to court for a sentencing hearing in November.
