The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is figuring out where to search next for a missing man whosecar was discovered abandoned on a St. John's highway over the weekend.

Jonathan Hannaford, 34, was reported missing on Sunday. Police have determined he was last seen Saturday in the area of Higgins Line in the east end of St. John's.

RNC Const Steve Curnew saidHannaford's blue Mustang was found parked on the side of the Outer Ring Road by officers around 2 a.m. Sunday, just west of theAllandale Road exit.

The man's keyswere found outside his car.

After police found out the owner of the vehicle and contacted the family, Curnew said a missing persons report was filed.

An air and ground search in the PippyPark area was called off Sunday night when it got dark.

Curnew said police are meeting with the family on Monday to determine where to search next.
