As the Newfoundland and Labrador provincial election draws closer, one of CBC's political panelsweighsin on the campaign.

Public relations expert Lynn Hammond and Memorial University political scientist Amanda Bittner will be CBC's"outsiders" panel during the election campaign. Neither is workingfor any political party but both are watching the race closely.

"We know that in Newfoundland and Labrador,we have that tendency to really want that saviour in a political party," Hammondsaid.

"With the three right now, we don't have a Danny Williams, we don't have a Joey Smallwood, we don't have a Brian Tobin, and so it's interesting that [Paul Davis is]really taking all that focus on himself rather than his team, which is very much what Dwight Ball seems to be doing," Hammond said.
