'I have new information that needs to be brought forward,' says Marcel Reardon's uncle

The uncle of a man killed in St. John's says he has new information about his nephew's death, and is convinced that the woman accused of murder could not have acted alone.

Marcel Reardon, 46, was found dead under a stairwayoutside Harbour View Apartments in St. John's on May 9.Four days later, Anne Norris, 28, was charged with first-degreemurder.

Now, Reardon's uncle, Blair Reardon, saidhe's been doing his own digging.

"I appreciate all the police work, what they have been doing. But I personally have been speaking to some individuals. I spoke to one person who was present when some threats or challenges were made. But these people are afraid to come forward, because they are at risk themselves," said Reardon.

Reardon said he also believes that Norris was too small to take on his nephew by herself, or move his body. Witnessestold CBCReardon's head had been smashed, and his body placed under the steps.

"He was a big scrapping man. And this lady could not have done this without some help. Absolutely not," said Reardon, who said he's going on more than a hunch.

"[I have]other information. I'm not able to reveal [it]at this time, but I have new information that needs to be brought forward," he said.

Reardon said he will be speaking with the police. He believes there was a motive for his nephew's murder.

"I don't think it was just an instant act of rage that took place. I think there are several things that might have led up to this. And whether they went too far with it or not. There's probably some dots that need to be lined up," he said.

The police also believe that there was a motive for the killing. Norris is charged with first-degree murder, which typically means it was carried out with some degree of planning.

Reardon said he's been going back over his nephew's life. "Through friends or acquaintances, and doing my own ground work, through some of the areas where Marcel lived," he said.

"And speaking to people that lived in those residences, and landlords and things of that nature. Just information that came my way that they probably weren't or felt they didn't want to give to the police."

Reardon isn't talking about Harbour View Apartments. His nephew never lived there.

The RNC has said it has no evidence pointing to another person being involved in the killing.

Reardon said he thinks they will end up arresting someone else.

"Absolutely. If they follow through on these leads and question some of these people, somewhere in between those interviews somebody is going to leak out a connection that it was more than one person."
