Scott Andrews to run as an independent in Avalon

Scott Andrews, who was ousted from the Liberal caucus amid allegations of sexual misconduct, filed his federal nomination papers on Monday.

CBC News has confirmed that Scott Andrewswill run federally as an independent in the riding of Avalon.

Andrews, who has been the Avalon MP since 2008,was ousted from the Liberal caucus in March amid allegations of sexual harassment by a female New Democrat MP.

He presently sits as an independent.

Andrews filed his nomination papers on Monday. He tells CBC News that he willannounce his candidacy on Tuesday.

Andrews drove around Monday in a fullydecaled campaign car. His wife, Susan Mosher, is his official agent.
