Sean Frampton implicated in 3 more armed robberies

The number of charges an alleged serial armed robber is facing is growing, as the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary laid nine additional charges.

An alleged serial armed robber is facingmore charges, according to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

Sean Frampton, 26, has been charged with committing three armed robberies, while having his face masked.

The RNClaid the additional chargesFriday afternoon.

Frampton is already in custody, after hisarrestin on Nov. 29following a robbery atCIBCin Churchill Square in St. John's.

Framptonwas charged with four other convenience store robberies dating back to August 2014.

He is believed to be connected to robberies that happened at Hickey's Convenience Store onPennywellRoad on Nov. 27, CornwallSuperette on Hamilton Avenue on Nov. 4,BlackmarshSuperetteonBlackmarsh Road on Sept. 4, and Hamilton Convenience on Hamilton Avenue on Aug. 31.

The charges against Frampton include armed robbery, possession of a weaponand disguise with intent.

CBC News had learnedFrampton was the target of a drive-by shooting in the west end of St. John's September last year, and was shot multiple times.

At the time, neighbours on Boyle Streetnear the intersection with Anspach Streetreported hearing multiple gunshots.

Frampton's injuries were not life threatening. The RNC hasnot confirmed Framptonwas the one involved in the shooting.

No one has been arrested in relation to the shooting incident.

Thelatest offences bringFrampton's total number of charges to 33 for eight armed robberies.
