St. John's police seize drugs worth $114,000

A 23-year-old man is scheduled to appear in provincial court in St. John's Thursday morning after police said they found a stash of drugs worth more than $114, 000 during a traffic stop.

On Wednesday evening, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary drug section along with street patrol officers stopped a vehicle in the Blackmarsh Road area of St. John's, seizing 931 grams of cocaine and 761 OxyContin tablets as well as what police described as "a quantity of cash."

The man was charged with two counts of breaching the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
