Steven Neville retains St. John's lawyer Jeff Brace for murder retrial

Neville will return to St. John's Tuesday as court proceedings continue towards his retrial, says his new lawyer.

Steven Neville, who's second-degree murder conviction was overturned by the Supreme Court of Canada on Nov.5, will be returning to Newfoundland Tuesday to start court proceedings towards a retrial, says his lawyer.

St. John's lawyer Jeff Brace is handling Neville's retrial.

Neville was found guilty in 2013 of fatally stabbingDoug Flynnand the attempted murder of Ryan Dwyer.

Brace said he was advised Monday afternoon Neville would arrived in Newfoundland Tuesday via an escorted flightand will be held in custody at Her Majesty's Penitentiary in St. John's awaiting court proceedings.

He said Neville is due toreturn to court in December, with a bail hearing to follow as soon as possible.

Bracesaid he has also asked lawyer Mark Gruchy to join Neville's defence team.
