$160,000 supercar for sale on N.L. Classifieds

NL Classifieds is a website where many of us look for a good deal, especially on cars.

Today I found an Oldsmobile Alero for $600, a Pontiac Grand Prix for $300, and a Honda Accord for $1, firm!

Oh, and a BMW i8 hybrid supercar for $159,995.

Uh... what?

The i8 looks like the kind of car Bruce Wayne would drive (watch the video and see for yourself).

Black with blue accents, butterfly doors, low, wide and curvy, from 0 to 100 in 4.4 seconds.

It's also likely the most expensive car currently for sale in St. John's (I checked).

So why is a six-figure supercar posted on NL Classifieds, along with the 2nd-hand bargains and spare-part jalopies?

"We want to get as much exposure on it as we can," says Ryan Haynes, sales consultant at BMW St. John's, where the i8 currently resides on the show floor.

"You can never know what people are looking for. You buy a Ski-Doo, or something like that, you see something that catches your eye"

Whether there's any cross-over between the second-hand Ski-Doo market, and the luxury supercar market, remains to be seen.

But since the i8 is posted on NL Classifieds, is there room to bargain on thethe $159,995 price tag?
"We're willing to put a deal together!" says Haynes.

"We'd love to see her stay in town, that's our main focus."
