TCH eastbound closed at Butter Pot Park after multiple accidents
The RCMP warn motorists will need to detour around the area Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Police say the eastbound lanes of the Trans Canada Highway were closed Tuesday afternoonin the Butter Pot Provincial Park area southwest of St. John's, due to multiple accidents.
RCMPdid not give details of how many accidents there were or if there were any injuries.
Tuesday evening, police closed the eastbound lanes at Witless Bay Line, asking motorists headed east to divertthrough the communities of Witless Bay or Holyrooduntil further notice.
