The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is searching for two people involved in an armed robbery in St. John's Saturday night.

An RNC spokesperson said around 9:30 p.m. a man and a woman, both wearing sunglasses, entered a pharmacy off Topsail Road in the city's west end.

Police said the man was armed with a knife and the woman had a crowbar.

Two clerks were threatened and assaulted.

The suspects got away with 1,500 Ritalin, Percocet and Demerol pills as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police used tracking dogs to try to locate the pair but the trail was soon lost.

The investigation is continuing and the RNC is asking anyone with any information on the incident to contact them immediately.
