Text messages sent between Trevor Pardy and his cousin before TriffieWadman was shot and killed four years ago were entered into evidence Tuesday.

Pardy, 38, is on trial at Newfoundland and Labrador Supreme Court in St. John's for first-degree murder. It's alleged he shot his ex-girlfriend, Wadman, 30, Oct. 1, 2011.

During the fifth day of the four-week trial, Nathan Pardy was called to the witness stand.

Nathan Pardy, also 38, said he was like a brother to his cousin Trevor Pardy, but went to police after hearing Wadman was killed.

"Nathan [b'y]; I'm gonna kill the c--ttonight; can't wait," one message from Trevor Pardy said.

Nathan Pardy goes on to tell his cousin he should have "stayed away from her bro."

'[It's] called justice'

In the exchange, Trevor Pardy tells Nathan Pardy that Wadman's sister has been textinghim, accusing Pardy of stealing money from her.

"I'm gonna go on a f--king rampage and kill em all," Trevor Pardy texted. "No you are not," Nathan Pardy responded.

"Wait and see; [I'll] get [Trif] at least," Trevor Pardy texted. "What a bunch of f--king crazy people."

Nathan Pardy asks his cousins to go to the Bella Vista for a drink, but Trevor Pardy declines.

"Don't do nothing stupid," Nathan Pardy said.

"Stupid would be for me not to do anything; [it's] called justice," Trevor Pardy said.

Despite the angry text messages, Nathan Pardy told the court his cousin wasn't verbally or physically abusive, and at the timehe believed Trevor Pardy was merely venting.

Nathan Pardytestified he thought his cousin feared Wadman, but did not provide any specific examples.

He said hewas shocked when he heard about the shooting, addinghe couldn't believe his cousin would do it.

NathanPardyadmitted it was tough to provide police with evidence in the case, given their close relationship.

It's alleged TrevorPardy brought a 9-mm semi-automatic to meet Wadman on Boggy Hall Place in the west end of St. John's on the pretext of paying her back money, but instead shot her to death.

Wadman, a mother of one, later died in hospital. An autopsy showed she had bled to death.
