About Heather Barrett

Heather Barrett is a veteran journalist and storyteller, and she's done pretty much everything at the CBC except fix the transmitters!

Heather has created programming for many local and national CBC Radio programs, and on the web for cbc.ca/nl. Her work has received several international awards.

While studying for her Bachelor of Music at Memorial University, Heather wandered into CHMR, the campus radio station. She created and hosted a classical music show, and got hooked on broadcasting. Heather topped up her radio experience with a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario.

Heather is a proud St. John's townie who lives in the east end of the city with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys getting out and about to take in all that Newfoundland and Labrador has to offer. Whenever there's an airline seat sale, she's up for a travel adventure. Heather is also an avid runner, obsessed with knitting, and enjoys a good television binge watch.

You can follow Heather on Twitter at@Barrett_Heather.
