Air North extends service to Kelowna, B.C.

Yukon's Air North will extend its new seasonal service to Kelowna, B.C.,into the winter, the airline has announced.

"We were certainly very pleasantly surprised with the traffic over the summer and it caused us to at least prolong the season so we can ascertain whether or not the traffic volumes will be sufficient to support year-round service," said company president Joe Sparling.

The schedule is being adjusted so the twice-weekly flights will leave Whitehorse an hour and a half earlier.

The airline began flying between Whitehorse and Kelowna in May.
