Artcirq's Joey Ammaq, 25, victim in suspicious death in Igloolik

RCMP are still investigating the suspicious death of a 25-year-old man from Igloolik.

A family member has confirmed he was Joey Ammaq, a musician and member of the circus group, Artcirq.

Ammaq performed in the band Kikkukia.

As a member of Artcirq, he also performed with Solomon Uyarasuk, whose death in police custody in Igloolik two years ago was the subject of a recent coroners inquest.

Ammaq was found without vital signs in a residence on December 1.

He was taken to the local nursing station, where people tried to revive him.

He was later pronounced dead.
