The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating Ontario Provincial Police'sresponse to a fire in Kenora, saying anOPP officer fatally shot a man in Kenora's Anicinabe Park.

The Ontario Civilian Police Commission has ended the term of Malcolm Mercer as administrator of the Thunder Bay Police Service Board. Mercer, appointed two years ago to oversee a board and police service that were in turmoil, said he believes the reconstituted board and new chief are on the right track and functioning properly.

Ontario Provincial Police have charged Sylvie Hauth, a former Thunder Bay police chief, as their investigation into the service brings forward more counts against current and former members of the force. Hauth's lawyer says she's confident she'll "prevail" at trial.
