Beverley Villeneuve pleads guilty to manslaughter in death of Archie Paulette

Beverley Anne Villeneuve, who was originally charged with second-degree murder in the death of Archie Paulette, has pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Paulette was found critically injured in his home in June 2015

BeverleyAnneVilleneuve, who was originally charged with second-degreemurderin the death of Archie Paulette, has pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

There is noword yet on when she will be sentenced.

Paulette, 67, was found critically injured in his Ndilo home on June 8,2015. He was later pronounced dead at Stanton Hospital in Yellowknife.

Villeneuve was arrested at the scene.

She is also facing charges ofassaultwith a weaponandpossession of a weapon for a dangerous purposein relation to an attack onPauletteinDecember 2014.

At that time she was released on bail under several conditions, which included not approaching Paulette's home in Ndilo and not coming into contact with him.

Three days before Paulette'sdeath, the court ordered Villeneuve to stay away from Ndilo.
