Brother wants answers about how John Wifladt died

The family of a Yellowknife man who died after being found seriously injured last weekend says they are still waiting for information from police on how he died.

John Wifladt, 39, and another man, Colin Digness, were found injured and unconscious in anapartment on the third floor of SunridgePlace on 51 Avenue on Sunday.

Dignessis in his early 40s and has a young son. He wasmedevacedto Edmonton where he is recovering in hospital.

TommyWifladt, John'sbrother, says he learned about his brother's death on Sundaybuthasn't been told much else.

He says all police will tell him is that his brother succumbed to his injuries. Police told thefamily theyaren't yet able to say what those injuries were or what caused them.

Wifladthad been with his brother and Dignessthe night before the two men were found.

"This is the worst time in my life," he said. "This is just devastating. I was so shocked."

On Tuesday, Wifladtwent to check on his brother's house.

"I went there yesterday, first time since his passing," he said. "I just started crying. All his stuff's in there. Couldn't hang out there, too shocking. His truck's parked outside. Itlooked like heshovelledon Saturday night."

The Chief Coroner of the N.W.T. says a forensics autopsy is still underway. The RCMP are investigating and say theyare unable to release any more details.
