No foul play suspected in Cambridge Bay death, say police

RCMP in Cambridge Bay are investigating after a woman was found dead in the community Friday morning.

RCMP officers had been investigating the death as suspicious, after body was found on Friday

'The death is deemed to be non-criminal in nature and no foul play is suspected,' says an RCMP statement. (CBC)

The death of a woman in Cambridge Bay last Friday is no longer being considered "suspicious" by police.

"At this time, the death is deemed to be non-criminal in nature and no foul play is suspected," saysan RCMP statementsent out Wednesday.

Officers found the woman's body at a Cambridge Bay residence on Friday morning, after receiving a tip.

Anews release sent out that afternoon said officers were "treating the death as suspicious," although it did not elaborate on the circumstances.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the manner of death.

"Our thoughts are with the family and the community of Cambridge Bay during this difficult time," says the police statement.
