The fourmodular classrooms are a temporary solution until the new $34 millionhigh school opens in 2019.

The portables will be located on the Sam Pudlat Elementary Schoolgrounds. They may be stand alone units or could be assembled together, and may or may not be linked to the elementary school.

To make it for the first day of school this fall, the classrooms need to be at Nunavut Sealine and Supply Incorporated's warehouse in Ste Catherine, Que., by June 1, in order to be on the first sealift barge of the season.

In all, 115 students and teachers were displaced when the fire destroyed Peter Pitseolak High School. Three teenagers are facing arson charges.
