Company removes Yukon road from Mactung mine proposal

North American Tungsten has removed the construction of an access road from its Mactung mine proposal in favour of using an existing road on the N.W.T. side of the border.

The road was a big stumbling block in the permitting process.

The company says the depositon the Yukon-Northwest Territories borderis one of the biggest high-grade tungsten deposits in the world. Its proposal included building the access road through a pristine area on the Yukon side of the border.

In itstentative approval last year of the mine's proposal,the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Boardquestioned why the company wouldn't use an existing road on the N.W.T. side of the border. It suggested North American Tungsten upgrade that road instead.

The company says it now agrees the existing road is the best access.
