Contract for new Hay River, N.W.T., health centre awarded

The territorial government has awarded a local company the contract to design and build the new health centre for Hay River, N.W.T.

Arctic Canada Construction Ltd. will build the facility, along with Bird Design Construction Inc.

The new centre is slated to be a state-of-the-art facility which will provide primary care, emergency services and medical and surgical day care. It will also offer rehabilitation, dialysis and support services, such as medical records and a pharmacy.

The design is expected to be complete by the fall and construction on the foundation is scheduled to begin in the spring.

The centre is scheduled to open its doors in the fall of 2015.
