Truck stolen and torched in Dawson City 'suspicious', police say

RCMP in Dawson City are investigating after a pickup truck and boat trailer were stolen early Monday morning. The truck was found hours later, 10 kilometres outside of town, burned to a crisp.

RCMP in Dawson City are investigating after a pickup truck was stolen from the downtown early Monday morning only to be found hours later, destroyed by fire.

The Ford F-350 truck had beenparked in the 300-block of Dugas Street, with a boat trailer attached, when it was stolen. Police believe it was taken sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m.

The truck was then found at around8 a.m., about 10 kilometres southeast of town, along Bonanza Road.

It had been set on fire, and "damaged beyond repair," according to police. The trailer was still attached.

Police say the fire is being treated as suspicious, and are asking anybody with information to contact them.
