Dylan Blaze Charpentier faces charges in 2014 crash that killed cousin

Dylan Blaze Charpentier is facing three charges, including impaired driving causing death, following the August 2014 single-car crash that claimed the life of his cousin, Luke Charpentier.

Dylan Blaze Charpentier faces numerous charges for incident that claimed life of his cousin

Charges have been laid in a car accident that claimed the life of a Yellowknife man last year.

Dylan Blaze Charpentier, 19, has been charged with impaired driving causing death,operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over .08percent,and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, in connection with an incident in August of 2014 that claimed the life of his cousin Luke Charpentier, then 21, of Yellowknife.

The accident occurred on August 30, 2014, whenLuke and Dylan weredriving in a pick-uptruck near the town of Castor Alberta on August 30, 2014.The truck went off theroad, and both occupants Dylan, the driver, and Luke, the passengerwere seriously injured.

Luke was taken to a hospital in Calgary, but died later that day, despite efforts to save him.

Dylan Blaze Charpentier is scheduledto make his first court appearance October 16 in Castor.

Luke Charpentier's family,who livein Yellowknife,are not commenting on the charges.
