Clyde River's fight against seismic testing has gained another high-profile supporter.

Actress Emma Thompson says she supports the community's legal challenge of a National Energy Board decision allowing seismic testing in Baffin Bay and Davis Strait.

The Oscar-winning actor is well known for her roles in Love Actually, Nanny McPhee and as Professor Trelawney in the Harry Potter series.

In a Greenpeace news release, Thompson says seismic testing is a precursor to destructive drilling for oil. She went on to say she was honoured to stand with the Inuit of Clyde Riveras they battle for their culture and livelihood.
