Family of murder victim Allan Waugh appeals for public's help

The family of Allan Waugh are appealing for help in the investigation of Waugh's murder in Whitehorse at the end of May.

The 69-year-old was found dead at his home onMcCrimmon Crescentin the McIntyre subdivision by RCMP and paramedics on the morning of May 30.

His death has been difficult for his family and the community. His daughter Rosemary Waugh recently posted a plea for information to a social media site: "Someone somewhere knows what happened. How do we break this circle of silence?"

She goes on to ask why are people unwilling to provide tips to the police that could solve a murder.

The RCMP are thanking those who have come forward, especiallymembers of theKwanlin Dun First Nation. Along with the family, they are now appealing for others to share what they know.

"We just ask those people tosearch their hearts and conscienceand to dig down and make that tough decisionand come forward with that information," said Sgt. Mark London, head of M Division's Major Crimes unit.

He says many details of the case can't be shared because the investigation is ongoing.

Police are asking anyone who has information or who may have witnessed any activity in the area of McCrimmon Crescent between May 29 and 30to contact the Whitehorse RCMP at 667-5555 or the Kwanlin Dun First Nation's Director of JusticeJeanie Dendys at 334-1803.
