The codeshare agreement between First Air and Canadian North will remain in effect, but the Yellowknife-Rankin Inlet-Iqaluit schedule is changing to what it used to be.

"We're delighted to again be able to offer Monday, Wednesday and Friday services thanks to the immediate feedback given by our customers and stakeholders," says Bert van der Stege, First Air's vice-president of commercial.

The Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday schedule lasted only one year. Many regular travellers using that route didn't like it.

"We received approximately between 20 and 30 emails, phone calls, on this issue,"said van der Stege.

"We've also been approached directly by customers, either through our sales channels or whenever one of us from the executive is up North, so we knew this was an important effect of the codeshare."

Van der Stege says theairline is serious when it comes to serving its customers.

"We knew from leisure and group travel customers it was number one on their list," he said.

"We've been working on this change for quite a while and today we're very pleased and delighted to announce that we're again able to offer Monday, Wednesday, and Friday services on this important route."

The scheduling changes will start August 15.

First Air will fly the route on Wednesdays and Fridays;Canadian North will fly Mondays.
