A group of her friends has started a Facebook page to name the community pool at the Lion's Aquatic Centre in her memory.

Ramish Ferris is one of the organizers.

"The brightest thing at the Canada Games Centre, in the pool, was Kelly Patrick's smile," he said.

"If there was an elder in Aquafit, a child taking swimming lessons, a lane swimmer or staff member, Kelly was there. She was showing leadership, and showing support and not giving up on any of the patrons."

Ferris saidhe's been in touch with Whitehorse city councillors about the proposed naming.
