Plane skids off runway in Igloolik, Nunavut

A private plane skidded off the runway inIgloolik, Nunavut, Thursdaymorning, but a hamlet officialsays no one was injured.

Shawn Stuckey, the senior administrative officer in Igloolik, saysit was an eight-seater private plane with three people on board.

All three passengers walked off the plane with no injuries, he adds.

A Facebook post by Igloolik's Joasai Kublusaid the plane ended up about 15 to 30 metres from the runway, but did not affect planes taking off or landing at the airport.

Transport Canada and the RCMPare investigating the incident, says Stuckey.
