Inuvik Sunrise Festival marks return of the sun

January 7 marked the first official day in a month that the sun inched back above the horizon in Inuvik, N.W.T.

To celebrate, people in Inuvik turned out for the annual Sunrise Festival, which featured fireworks, snow carving, food, musicand dance.

This year's festival took place at the Ice Road Village at Twin Lakes, a spot closer to the town centre than previous years.
