Iqaluit taxi driver robbed by 2 masked men

Iqaluit RCMP are asking the public's help to identify two males in black ski masks who robbed a taxi driver around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31.

Both men spoke Inuktitut, believed to be over 20 years of age, police say

Iqaluit RCMP are asking forthe public's help to identify two males in black ski masks who robbed a taxi driver around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31.

The men hailed the cab at the Storehouse Bar and asked to be taken to the 2200 block, police say.At the destination, they became violent and demanded money, then left the taxi on foot near Joamie School.

No one was injured in the incident.

Both men wore dark jackets and ski masks and spoke Inuktitut. Police believe them to be over 20 years of age.

They're asking anyone who knows more about the incidentto call the local detachment at 867-979-0123 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, submit a tip online, or text 'NWTNUTIPS' plus a message to 274637 (CRIMES).
