Search called off for Jake Angurasuk after body discovered outside Iqaluit

Iqaluit RCMP have concluded the search for Jake Angurasuk after his body was found outside of town.

Angurasuk's body was found 10 kilometres from Iqaluit about four hours into a community search Sunday, RCMP said. That search had been scheduled for Saturday, but had been delayed due to poor weather conditions.

Though police saidfoul play is unlikely, coroners will perform an autopsy to determine how Angurasuk died.

Angurasuk, a homeless man living in Iqaluit, had been missing since friends noticed he had not been seen at Uquutaq Men's Shelter since Dec. 4.
