Joel Evans wins best actor award for The Lesser Blessed

Joel Evans, the star of the film The Lesser Blessed,has won the award forOutstanding Actor in a Leading Role at the 10thannual Red Nation Film Awards in Los Angeles.

This was the first role in a feature film for theFort Smith teenager.

The Lesser Blessedalso won the award for Best Picture.

The film is based on Richard Van Camp's book by the same name.

It's a coming of age book based on Van Camp's experience growing up Fort Smith.
