Mother issues plea in solving daughter's death

The mother of a woman who died suspiciously in Iqaluit last May has asked the public to come forward to help the RCMP solve the case.

The mother of a woman who died suspiciously in Iqaluit in May has asked the public to come forward to help the RCMP solve the case.

The body of Daisy Curley, 33, was found on the floor of House 1631 in the Iqaluit's Happy Valley area at about May 24.

The victim's mother, Okalik Curley, said she is grateful to people who have co-operated with police and answered questions.

Police have deemed the death suspicious and handed out pamphlets in the community.

She asked anyone who saw Daisy in days prior to her death to let the RCMP know by calling Crime Stoppers.

The mother said she was on a temporary work assignment in Igloolik when her daughter died, adding it has been hard tocome to terms withthe loss.

Curley said she is grateful for the support she's received from the community.
