N.W.T.'s Ingraham Trail temporarily closed due to fires

N.W.T. Highway 4, also known as the Ingraham Trail, closed Friday at midnight due to forest fires.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resourcessays the closure, which is now north ofkilometre 38,is a "precautionary measure."

Reid Lake Territorial Park and Campground at kilometre 60 was also shut down last night.Campers haduntil midnight to leave.

Officials postedevacuation notices on cabins in the area.

Rain is in the forecast for the weekend, but officials say it's unlikely to be enough to mitigate the fire situation.
