5.8 magnitude quake shakes Nunavut's High Arctic

Resolute, Nunavut, was shaken by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake on Sunday, according to Natural Resources Canada.

Nunavut's High Arctic was shaken by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake on Sunday, according to Earthquakes Canada.

The quake struck at 5:47 CT, at a depth of about 19 kilometres. Earthquakes Canada said it did not expect there to be any damages.

The earthquake was centred about 89 kilometres southeast of Resolute. (Earthquakes Canada)

The U.S. Geological Survey, which originally measured the earthquake at magnitude 6.4, reported that it was centred about 89 kilometres southeast of Resolute.
