Nunavut releases government action plan

Nunavut Premier Eva Aariak has released the government's Tamapta action plan for the next four years.

Nunavut Premier Eva Aariak has released an action plan for the balance of her government's term in office.

The action plan aims to pursue the government's mandated priorities set out in Tamapta: Building Our Future Together, which was tabled Monday in the legislative assembly.

The action plan, based in part on recommendations from arecent "report card" of the government's programs and services, focuses on improving education, reducing poverty and making the territorial civil service more efficient.

"This is not only our action plan, but also our committment to this territory," Aariak told MLAs in the legislature on Monday.

"We trust that Nunavummiut will follow our progress closely and hold us accountable for achieving what we have set out to do."

Tamapta outlines the territorial governments vision for Nunavut for the next 20 years.
