N.W.T. issues Christmas Eve exposure notices for Yellowknife businesses

The Northwest Territories government is advising people who are impacted by the exposures and who are not vaccinated to immediately isolate. That includes seven rows of an Air Canada Flight from Calgary on Boxing Day.

The Northwest Territories government has issued four new COVID-19 exposure noticesfor Yellowknife businesses on Christmas Eve.

The exposures took place at the Black Knight from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at OverlanderSports from 2 p.m. to 2:20 p.m., the uptown liquor store from 3 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., and the Trailblazer Cannabis Shop from 3:20 p.m. to 3:25 p.m.

All unvaccinated people at these locations during thosetimes are required to immediately isolate and contact Yellowknife Public Health to arrange for testing.

All fully vaccinated people who were at these sites at these times are required to self-monitor for symptoms, refrain from gathering, avoid high-risk activities and get tested on day four after exposure, or anytime symptoms develop.

The exposures are among several that have been issued in the last few days, including Ravens Pub on Dec. 23 from 11:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., Walmart on Dec. 22 between 12:30 and 12:50 p.m.and Canadian Tire on the same day from 1 to 1:20 p.m., and a Sunday evening flight from Calgary to Yellowknife.

Exposures on flights

The territorial government also issued more exposure notices for flights on Tuesday evening, including:rows 15 to 24 on Canadian North flight 5T 244 from Edmonton to Inuvik on Dec. 27, and rows 2 to 8 onAir Canada flight AC8457 from Calgary to Yellowknife on Dec. 21.

All unvaccinated people in those rows must isolate where they are. They can't travel and must get tested on day eight from exposure or if symptoms occur. All fully vaccinated in the affected rows should self-monitor for symptoms for 10 days from exposure, and get tested on day four if symptoms occur.
