Plane makes emergency landing in Rankin Inlet

A plane full of passengers made an emergency landing in Rankin Inlet Thursday afternoon after a sensor went off mid-flight indicating an emergency.

A NolinorAviationflight made an emergency landing in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut,Thursday afternoon after asensor went off mid-flightindicating an emergency.

TheBoeing 737-200 was en route from the MeadowbankGold Mine near Baker Laketo Montreal, with passengers and cargo.

All crew members and passengers are safe.

Serge Bernier, thedirector of security and logisticsfor Nolinor, says he's still not sure what exactly happened during the flight.

"We are just trying to find out why this light went on," he said.

The aircraft is being assessed on the ground in Rankin Inlet.
